Human Resources Pre-Employment Training

Higher Formation Discipline & Administration (HFDA)

Course Dates: 4 - 5 May 10 and 31 Aug - 1 Sept 10 for course loading ring 96161 5053

The HFDA is a similar course to the UDA course but is aimed at SO2/1s, including DCOS' and MSF personnel working in the G1 field. It is a 2 day course with similar content but it examines discipline and administrative matters as they apply above unit level.

Manning & Establishment Action (MEA)

Course Dates: 5 May 10 and 1 Sept 10 for course loading ring 96161 5053

The MEA is a one day course which covers forecasting and planning manpower requirements and the administrative action required to manage establishments, the target audience includes serving military SO2/1s and MSF.

Career Management & Structures (CMS)

Course Dates: 6 - 7 May 10 and 2 - 3 Sept 10 for course loading ring 96161 5053

CMS is a 2 day course which covers appraisal procedures, selection of appropriate personnel, managing career development and personal development opportunities and is aimed at officers posted to APC, DM (A) and Recruiting Group, plus MS representatives and G1 appointments.

Unit Discipline and Admin (UDA)

Course Dates: Contact Worthy Down

The UDA course takes place at Worthy Down and provides ET for SO3 appointments in the HR field. It replaces the 'Adjutants' course' and the target audience is all-arms adjutants and individuals assuming SO3 G1 Discipline appointments. Over 5 days, it provides more detailed knowledge of the Army discipline and administration system as it applies at unit level. It includes values and standards, the disciplinary system, complaints procedures, substance misuse Service Inquiries, Sickness and Absence Management, and Suicide Vulnerability Risk Management. 

Officer Commanding Discipline and Admin (OCDA)

Course Dates: Course loading arranged through Regional Div HQ G1 staff

This course provides a discipline and administration update for officers prior to assuming sub-unit command.  Completion of the course is mandatory prior to assuming the disciplinary responsibilities of a subordinate commander. Places on this course are arranged through Regional Div HQ G1 staff.
