The MDD programme, aimed primarily at International students, presents a stimulating, structured opportunity for selected key officers and civilians in the security sector to discuss current defence problems, security concepts and issues and to gain an informed understanding of democratic culture.  It is run by the SSRG which provides education and advice in security and resilience issues as a key component of the Defence College of Management and Technology,DCMT.

In the Director’s Commendations he particularly praised Lieutenant Col Olley for his dedication, good humour and commitment to bringing British Defence Diplomacy to the fore.  The Director especially praised Dr Cleary for her commitment and inspirational teaching, together with significant personal influence persuading senior international officials to recognise the value of good governance in the defence arena.  Both individuals were commended for forging an excellent working relationship between DCMT and the CU academic partner.
