| Directors Welcome Welcome to the Intermediate Command and Staff Course (Land). This 30 week course is attended by all Army majors on promotion. ICSC(L) provides an entire cohort with a wide-ranging, comprehensive, mid-career development and education. ICSC(L) looks at all aspects of Army business, with the focus on leadership and success on operations – our core business. By the end of the course our students will have developed their analytical and communication skills, widened their professional knowledge and stimulated their motivation to support a career as a Major and Lieutenant Colonel in command and on the staff. The students are expected to work hard with a mix of preparatory work, central lectures, many by distinguished visiting lecturers, syndicate work, exercises, and private study. The course has been designed to be interactive and there is a healthy mix of topical and at time controversial lectures to stimulate discussion and broaden horizons. The course is not all about work, however, and there are opportunities for a wide variety of sporting, extra-mural and social pursuits. | ![]() | |
