Territorial Army Intermediate Staff Course (TAISC)
The aim of the TAISC is:
"To produce TA officers who have acquired sufficient knowledge of staff procedures to be capable, under supervision, of fulfilling the role of a staff officer at senior captain level."
The Army Division provides junior staff training for members of the Territorial Army (TA) on the TAISC, which has been run twice per year since March 1998. These courses last eight days and each course is for up to 70 TA officers, the majority in the rank of captain. Course planning and instruction is carried out by the AD Regular Army staff who are assisted by one TA major.
Attendance on this course is an essential pre-requisite for those TA officers whose ambition is to be selected for promotion to Major or to attend advanced level staff training on the Territorial Army Command and Staff Course (TACSC).
