Joint Services Command and Staff College Library

The JSCSC Library was created in 1997 when it inherited most of the stock of the four single Service staff colleges from which the JSCSC was formed. The JSCSC Library is now the single largest defence library in the United Kingdom with a collection of over 210,000 monographs and a wide range of periodicals and audio-visual material, as well as access to numerous on-line databases and other information services.

Access to the JSCSC Library is by prior permission only and may be restricted due to course commitments or security considerations.

The JSCSC Library has embarked on a programme of scanning some of its more important and interesting archive documents and it is our intention to make these accessible via these webpages.  The College also has a number of major artworks on a military theme including paintings of battle scenes and portraits of military leaders.  Images of some of these will be added to the webpages together with information on their subject matter and provenance.  The Library produces bibliographies on a wide variety of subjects relevant to the JSCSC curricula and these will also be added on a regular basis.  The bibliographies refer to material held in the JSCSC Library.
