General Mattis visits Advanced Command and Staff Course
On 20 October 2009 General James N Mattis, Commander US Joint Forces Command, addressed the Advanced Command and Staff Course during a brief visit to the Joint Services Command and Staff College (JSCSC).
General Mattis provided a candid and insightful address on the complexity and importance of building truly effective coalitions. Drawing on his vast professional experience, he championed the development of an attitude of collaboration for the delivery of successful campaigns in the modern age.
His address was a very thought provoking start to the ACSC students' study of Conflict and the International System, and provides an excellent touch point for their studies of coalition and multi-agency operations later in the Course.
