Maj Yardley presents a plaque and certificate to RNSMS as recognition of Accredited Centre Status

Major Katie Yardley, the DAO compliance officer, represented the Senior Responsible Officer, Peter Watkins, DG Defence Academy at the event and presented both a certificate and plaque to RNSMS in recognition of their achievement of Accredited Centre Status.

The RNSMS AB Tactical Systems course was the first course to achieve accreditation under the DAO’s new regulations.  Students were presented their DAO Level 1 Certificate in Data Resource Management (Analyser) by Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST), Rear Admiral Johnstone.  RNSMS see becoming a Centre under the Ofqual-regulated DAO as an opportunity to utilise the accreditation to enhance retention and sustain qualified submarine experience within the UK Submarine Enterprise.  Working with industry, the intent is for the RNSMS to accredit all RNSMS career courses.

Further information about becoming an approved centre and awarding DAO qualifications can be found in the DAO Policy Rules and Guidance, published at www.da.mod.uk/defence-awarding-organisation-dao (www).
