Gold and Bronze at Combined Services Judo Championship for Staff Sergeant Lee Brown
The REME Corp motto 'Arte et Marte' ('by skill and by fighting') was certainly in evidence at the Combined Services Judo Championships on Saturday the 15th November 2008.
Staff Sergeant Lee Brown
Staff Sergeant Lee 'Bomber' Brown, Artificer Vehicles in the Defence Capability Centre, was selected to compete for the Army Kyu Grade Team. Due to the lack of Under-100kg players, Staff Sergeant Brown was nominated to step up a weight. The Team fought with skill and tenacity and went on to win Gold. Staff Sergeant Brown also fought in the Under-90kg Dan Grade category: the competition was very tough, with most of the players being of a higher grade, but with sheer doggedness and aggression Staff Sergeant Brown went on to win a Bronze Medal.
