The Chancellor of Cranfield University, Baroness Young of Old Scone, conferred degrees on 385 UK and international students, as well as presenting 76 individual prizes for dissertations and outstanding performance by those completing their studies over the course of the past academic year.

As part of the proceedings, honorary doctorate degrees were conferred on Air Chief Marshal Sir Simon Bryant KCB CBE, former Commander-in-Chief Air Command, and Dr Sandy Wilson, President and Managing Director of General Dynamics UK Ltd, for their outstanding contributions to UK Defence throughout their respective careers.

Director DA-CMT, Major General Mike Riddell-Webster, welcomed graduands, guests and senior officials of Cranfield University and the Defence Academy to the Ceremony, which he referred to as one of the highlights of the Defence Academy’s 10th Anniversary celebrations.
