The Defence Academy Welcomes National School of Government's International Team
After the closure of the National School of Government, the International team has moved to the Defence Academy
With the closure of the National School of Government (NSG) on 31 Mar 12, it was necessary to find a new institutional home for the School’s respected international team. This team has been delivering bespoke solutions for foreign Governments. Following consultations between departments, it has been agreed that the international team – known as National School of Government International (NSGI) – should move to the Defence Academy. The team, led by Bob Stephenson, will from 2 Apr 12 work from the Academy’s headquarters at Shrivenham and will also utilise office and teaching space in the Royal College of Defence Studies in London.
Peter Watkins, Director General of the Defence Academy, said:
“I am delighted to welcome NSGI to the Defence Academy. It was important to maintain this key contributor to the UK’s “soft power” following the closure of the NSG, and its work richly complements the Academy’s international programmes. Together, we can make an even more effective contribution to capacity-building and security sector reform overseas.”
Further details about NSGI will follow, but in the meantime all enquiries should be directed to:
