Ex TYHPOON EXPLORER

Look how big it is!

In the midst of December, Typhoon Squadron’s new bursars got their first taste of Adventure Training with a weekend trip to Capel Curig Wales. There were opportunities for all to try activities ranging from mountain biking, rock climbing and mountaineering.

The conditions looked potentially compromising upon arrival, with snow capped peaks surrounding the roads. A gap in the weather the following morning, allowed the planned activities to go ahead with huge success, many people trying their chosen area for the very first time.

Mountain bikers returned first, carrying half of the trails with them and now seemingly unable to walk due to the steep hills they had been led up reluctantly by the keen OCdt Clarkson. Climbers returned shortly after, fingers and hands achy after a long day on the rock.

Unsurprisingly everyone slept extremely well that night as a result of the day’s exerts. The second day was much the same with a switch in activities but the weather was slightly poorer, yet unable to dampen spirits.

The trip was thoroughly enjoyable and brought together lots of Typhoon Squadron’s undergraduates.
