3/4 December mountain biking report

On Friday 2nd December three officer cadets travelled to Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire to prepare for a weekend of biking in a new area to Typhoon Sqn. We started early on the cold Saturday morning and travelled down to Dalby Forest anticipating what challenging hills we may have to climb on our search of flowing downhill single track. After a full English breakfast in the cafe on site we hopped on our bikes and started on the uphill trail. This proved to be as expected, large hills followed by technical single track. We had lunch after around 10km of cycling next to a bike park which we then spent the rest of the afternoon riding before heading back to the vehicles.

Sunday morning turned out to be colder than Saturday despite this we had an early rise and drove down to the forest this time parking closer to the bike park. This allowed us to try a different route and spend some more time on the bike park. The route on the second day was again technically challenging testing the nerves of all those involved, boosting confidence and providing a sense of achievement once completed.
