The primary aim of the Defence Technology Club is to foster liaison between its members with a view to promoting the development of Science, Technology and Acquisition within the defence community. It will develop contacts with the defence industry, explore research and development opportunities, and seek to advance academic understanding within the defence community. It is also about keeping in touch with those that you have served with and building an important network within the wider defence community.

Events and Activities

The principal activities of the Club include:

• The annual publication of a Members' List.
• The publication of a Spring, Summer and Autumn Newsletter.
• An Annual Symposium, AGM and Dinner.
• An annual President’s “Advanced Class” Dinner (members and invited guests only).
• An annual Cocktail Party.
• Support to charitable organisations and technical courses at the Defence Academy.

Additionally club members have access to Symposia at Shrivenham.  Preferential rates are available to members of at least 2 years. 

Membership

Members consist of all current members of the former Advanced Class Dinner Club and Shrivenham Club. Membership is open to serving UK military officers on appointment to a post in the Technical employment field; civil servants employed in a technical post and academics and professionals working in defence, in UK-based organisations.

There is an annual membership fee of £10 that entitles members to subsidised rates for the Club's events. At the moment there are over 1,200 members world-wide. Each member receives a copy of the annual Members' List.
