It is mandatory for all Control Account Holders and Operators to attend an accredited Control Account training course, in order to ensure a minimum standard in the provision of training to all staff within the MoD who have responsibility for control accounts.
Course Aim
The aim of this course is to give Control Account Operators and Holders an appreciation of their differing roles, the point and purpose of using Control Accounts, and to detail and practice the tasks involved in maintaining them

Course Objectives
By the end of the module, students will be able to:
- Explain what a control account is; distinguish between the different types and state why they are necessary
- Detail and complete the control account reconciliation process and appreciate its importance
- Explain the basics of the MOD Chart of Accounts and ledger accounting
- Describe the roles and responsibilities of control account holders and control account operators
- Outline the basic principles involved in managing control accounts
- Explain the administrative arrangements and further sources of information
