Nuclear General Course - ME803N

Suitable For

Naval Officers of the Warfare, Supply, Weapon Engineering and Training Management specialisation who will, after further training, qualify as submarine Officer of the Watch and Officer of the Day or teach in support of the NNPP.

Course Aim

The NGC is designed to enable students, after further appropriate training and on the job training, to successfully perform the Officer of the Day and Officer of the Watch duties. They will have the underpinning knowledge of where the nuclear propulsion plant affects ship safety, control and operation. This includes reactor and nuclear safety responsibilities and an introduction to the organisation and administration of Nuclear Safety in the Royal Navy.
