Principles of Configuration Management - PCM - 8 Mar 2012

Establishing some form of control mechanism for projects, whether it be documentation or the actual equipment itself, is a vital element of success. Being able to track requirements throughout the acquisition process, identify, control and manage changes and to know the exact build state of equipment in services is a fundamental element of managing projects. Reducing expenditure, eliminate wasteful resource and understanding the impact and cost of decisions on a project are just some of the benefits of successful configuration management.
