Suitable For

The course is suitable for people in business who have a requirement to become aware of legal and regulatory issues which affect information systems professionals. This course is also a module on the Information Capability Management MSc

Course Aim

Information Systems and the way in which they are used are increasingly subject to legal and ethical restrictions. This course will not turn you into a lawyer, but will enable you to identify situations in your professional life which may pose such problems that require expert guidance such as: Legislation & regulations of relevance to the information systems professional (e.g. Data Protection, Copyright, Computer Misuse etc); Professional responsibilities, professional societies and codes of practice (e.g. those of BCS); Contemporary Issues.
