Closer working in new Acquisition Learning and Upskilling

L-R Jonathan Lyle, Comdt, DCMT and Jonathan Evans, DGHR, DE+SOn 14th April Jonathan Evans, Director General Human Resources, Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) and Jonathan Lyle, Commandant of the Defence College of Management & Technology (DCMT, as part of Defence Academy) signed a Concordat to facilitate joint working by defining the principles and expectations for the organisation’s relationship.

This Concordat is an expression of the close relationship that has been developed between the two organisations in taking forward the challenges of upskilling. It states a commitment to working jointly in support of the Defence vision of producing “battle-winning” people and equipment by ensuring our people have the right skills for acquisition through continued investment in their training and education. This has included the development of new training and education now being rolled out as part of the Defence Acquisition Change Programme (DACP), where the focus is primarily on training at the Awareness/Practitioner levels in Through Life Capability Management, Programme & Project Management, Commercial, Integrated Logistic Support and the Defence Acquisition Management Education Programme.

This new learning utilises a blended approach to ensure greater flexibility for the learner. Blended with the core elements of e-learning, tutor-led workshops and workplace support is a range of complementary support resources.  These include eBooks – an online reference tool, a news facility to keep learners up to date, CPD logbooks, Document Libraries and Discussion Forums giving learners an opportunity to discuss subjects with peers or ask an expert. These support tools are accessed via DaLearning’s e-learning website, Online@DaLearning.
