Defence Acquisition Change Programme Upskilling - Launch Event
Defence Academy hosted an official launch event in Main Building London on 8 July to mark the publication of the Guide to Acquisition Training and Education (GATE) version 2, new courses resulting from DACP Upskilling and dblearning’s new Go-Le@rn Mobile Learning Service.
Sir Ian Andrews 2nd PUS joined invited guests from across the wider acquisition community and gave a keynote speech in which he emphasised that in order to deliver the Defence vision, our people need shared values and top notch professional skills and acquisition knowledge.
Jonathan Lyle, Commandant of the Defence College of Management and Technology set out the progress which has been made over the past 2 years since the Jun 06 Enabling Acquisition Change report in terms of improving acquisition training and education. Significant developments included the setting up of DaLearning, the original GATE publication, and now this expanded version including all of the new courses and tube maps developed as part of DACP and DE&S upskilling.
A key feature of the new courses is to improve their flexibility and accessibility through blended learning and enhanced innovation – a point further underlined with the roll out of dblearning’s new Go-Le@rn mobile learning service.
