Mrs Anita Brady - Royal College of Defence Studies

This award is in recognition of how, over the past two years Mrs Brady has transformed RCDS IT and Library facilities, to the great benefit of the College, the Defence Academy, and the Department.  She has contributed tremendously to the Defence Academy intellectual capitalization initiative, not least in digitizing the last 16 years worth of Members’ dissertations.  She has also delivered the RCDS Alumni Database, fundamental to maintaining and enhancing the RCDS Worldwide network.  She has radically improved internal communications developing the Members’ intranet into the main conduct for all essential course information, and introducing state-of-the-art electronic notice board technology to the College.  Much of the creative work on this has been her own initiative, and all against a background of chronic library staff shortages.  In addition she has generated substantial cost savings, while always delivering world class library support.
