Young Muslim Leadership Course - 20th May 2008

The Defence Academy Culture Institute was very pleased to host the graduation of the first ‘Young Muslim Leadership Course’ pioneered by the Active Change Foundation.

Young Muslim Leadership Course at the Defence Capability CentreThe event took place at the Defence Capability Centre in the presence of sponsors, supporters and family and friends.

All the young men and women receiving the awards have shown commitment to a long training programme designed to give them the skill and confidence to be advocates for their communities.

They have worked with various groups and supporters including the Metropolitan Police, The Institute for Statecraft and Governance and have been involved in a variety of activities ranging from courses arranged by the Culture Institute, which is part of the Advanced Research and Assessment Group, a Shrivenham-based component of the Defence Academy.  These activities have been conducted in partnership with Reservists, 42 North West Brigade, Interfaith Bridgebuilders and the Active Change Foundation in Waltham Forrest.

The young leaders aim to be role models, to point the way to greater participation in civil Society and take their place as Muslims and British Citizens
