About this course
The course enables members of specific faith or non-faith, based communities across Defence and wider government, to gather once a year. It is led by the Defence POC for the faith involved.
There are dates for Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and Sikh communities to gather and also dates for Defence Humanists and the LGBT community.
Each course will involve a variety of moral, spiritual/philosophical, educational and leadership activities. The aim is to promote and foster spiritual/philosophical and moral values from a faith or humanist perspective, contributing to professional, personal and spiritual development. This is also an opportunity to develop morale and build confidence for serving personnel.
What you will learn
You will:
become equipped with first hand knowledge and practicality of the Buddhist faith and how you can practice this in your work life
learn where to go if things are not right at work or home
return to your place of work energised with the confidence of available support, be reconnected with your faith and be inspired by the others you have met
How will this course help my career?
The vision of this course is that it can be life changing as people reassess and re-evaluate their own life and their approach to those among whom they live and work. The biggest benefit of affirming people within their personal construct and context is greater contentment and a positive mind-set towards life. Evidence shows that such personal development and self-awareness improves the sense of worth, well-being and performance and resilience both personally and professionally.
