This is a 4-week stand-alone course which leads to
the relevant SLP examination and is usually delivered on request.
Application is carried out through IDT(A).
SLP exam courses focus on listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and
students work with a wide range of materials and topics, all written
specifically for this course and based on authentic sources such as the BBC,
British military publications and newspapers. The course is suitable for those
who would like to work for NATO or other international organisations. The
course will not increase the SLP level of a candidate, rather it will refresh
skills and examine the candidate at the relevant SLP so that their language
skills can be formalised and recognised by NATO partner countries.

and writing at the relevant STANAG SLP level. The courses attract military
personnel from across the globe.
STANAG SLP Level 1 and 2 proficiencies are Survival and Functional
respectively, they are often used by NATO organisations as pre-requisites for
STANAG SLP Level 3 proficiency is the level required by many of the NATO
partners' military personnel wishing to work within NATO organisations and as
such highly sought after by many NATO members.
STANAG SLP Level 4 proficiency is that of an educated native speaker of
English. It is a high level of language proficiency and would enable personnel
to work effectively in organisations using English as a first language.
