Module 0 is a two-part course that will provide you with an awareness of how cyber is being taken forward as a defence and pan-governmental endeavour of central importance. The course makes use of visiting speakers from industry, defence and other government departments who are experts and leading practitioners in their respective fields.
This module follows on from the overarching cyber principles covered in Cyber 101 to build understanding of the context of cyber operations within a military environment. The module is a mandated element of the Cyber Foundation Pathway (CFP) if you intend to undertake subsequent modules but is also available to complete if you do not plan to progress further through the pathway and just want to enhance your understanding of cyber in Defence. Module 0 is delivered through a fully blended approach; Part A is undertaken online via the DLE and MODNET (for access to Official Sensitive content). This is followed by a face-to-face Part B to cover material at higher classifications and to link the content together.
Module 0 Part A is available for self-enrolment on the DLE now. To find it, search on the DLE for ‘CFPM0A’. You will need the Module 0A course certificate to apply for attendance at Module 0 Part B.
The dates listed on the right are for Module 0 Part B, the face to face element held at Defence Academy in Shrivenham. You can apply through the button at the top of this webpage.
If you have been unable to complete both parts of Module 0, you are still able to continue with further CFP modules, but you must attend and complete Module 0 Part B before any JPA competencies based on later training and assessment will be issued.
