This course will support the development of agile information professionals, enabling you to be more effective in the development of information systems.

On successful completion of this module a student should be able to:
  • design appropriate visualisations based on user requirements
  • appraise current practices for decision support in organisations
  • contrast methods of analysing data to enable business intelligence
  • assess the appropriateness of big data models for generating insight
Completion of this module will earn 10 credits towards an Information Capability Management named award (PgCert, PdDip or MSc).

This module is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP).

Before you attend

A first or second class Honours degree, or equivalent, in science, engineering or mathematics.  Alternatively, a lesser qualification together with appropriate work experience may be acceptable.

You must complete the Foundations of Information Systems module first.
