About this course

You will develop the skills required to administer, create and assure Moodle based learning on the Defence Learning Environment (DLE). It will provide technical system training and a supportive online learning system to reinforce learning whilst in a DLE role. 

DLE Role Functionality Training (DLERFT) consists of four incremental eModules that require completion, dependant on your DLE Role.  These can be accessed via the Register your Interest link.

DLE Administration Course (DLEADM) 
In the DLE Administration (DLEADM) course you will learn about navigating the DLE, how to add groups, enrol students and run reports.

DLE Foundation Course (DLEFDN)
The DLE Foundation (DLEFDN) builds on the course management principles started in DLE Administration and introduces you to DLE Policy, creating and managing effective DLE courses.

DLE Intermediate Course (DLEINT) 
The DLE Intermediate (DLEINT) builds on the course management principles started in DLE Administration and Foundation and introduces you to DLE Governance and Compliance Policy.

DLE Advanced Course (DLEADV) 
In the DLE Advanced (DLEADV) course you will build upon the practices you have learnt in the previous three courses to increase your knowledge of DLE policy and management of categories and sub-categories

Completion of training is mandated before permissions are allocated on the DLE.

What you will learn

You will learn/develop the following, including but not limited to:
  • the structure and purpose of the DLE
  • to undertake administration of training on the DLE
  • about Moodle technical system functionality
  • to create Moodle- based learning 
  • assure training through the DLE
  • your role and responsibilities within the DLE hierarchy

How will this course help my career?

It will provide you with the skills necessary to carry out your assigned DLE role. DLERFT must be completed before role permissions can be allocated on the DLE.

Completion of DLERFT to intermediate level is a prerequisite for attending the DOLC.

All personnel across Defence who are required to undertake DLE Roles and develop online learning within the DLE.
