About this course

This virtual course will provide you with an overview of how departmental costs are controlled and the importance of compliance with legislation, policies and working within delegated authority.  

This is a stand-alone course that is part of the Defence Academy Business Skills College Financial Course Portfolio. It consists of a 1 day virtual delivery as well as some additional supporting information on the DLE as E-Learning.

What you will learn

This course will give you the required knowledge to provide advice on common financial matters; scrutinising expenditure and income proposals and an understanding of assurance and the Department’s Performance Management processes thus promoting good financial management practice.  In addition, it will also help you to understand the high level Annual Budget Cycle (ABC) and In Year Management (IYM) processes.

How will this course help my career?
