About this course
Over the course of the workshop, discussions will examine the essential elements of a contract, the legal context for contracting, commercial risks and the role of commercial officers and ILS staff in commercial processes.
This is the virtual alternative to the current ILSC classroom-based course delivered by the Business Skills College.
What you will learn

How a contract is formed and how to avoid unintentionally committing MOD to contract
The implications of the EU Regulations on defence procurement
The role of a Commercial Officer
Issues in contracting for ILS and support
The route to placing a contract in MOD
The ILSM’s role in the contracting process
The considerations for effective contract management
How will this course help my career?
It will consolidate practitioner level knowledge in a fundamental area of acquisition and support.
It is a mandatory course for TTLS staff in DE&S who wish to obtain the TTLS Practitioner Certificate.
Before you attend
You must have completed the ILS Management and Supportability Engineering (ILSMSE) workshop and the e-learning course ILS Contract Management Online (ILSCMO).
