About this course

To provide you with an awareness and the tools for mental fitness and resilience in order to optimise your performance and wellbeing.

To assist your attainment of mental fitness and resilience through the application of practical skills to manage everyday experiences of mild to moderate stress and build psychological resilience. This will better prepare you to meet the physical, emotional and psychological challenges inherent throughout defence as articulated in the Defence People and Training Strategy.

What you will learn

By the end of the course you will be able to:
  • appreciate how stress and resilience can impact on health and well-being in self and others
  • adopt appropriate practical techniques to manage personal stress and to build psychological resilience
  • utilise the principles of a positive psychology perspective to build resilience in self
  • recognise the importance of self-awareness and practice self-coaching techniques
