This course is designed to meet the needs of international students who are due to attend RMAS and are required to improve their language skills or develop basic military discipline and ethos. Students who are proficient in English may also benefit from attending the course if they have no military experience.
At present there are no accreditation options available for this English language course.
The syllabus, taught entirely in English, includes an introduction to the British Army, visits to military places of interest, physical training and sport, drill, weapon handling and map reading. There are also continued English language lessons throughout the course to develop all four language skills.
This course develops the English language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing for those going on to undertake the RMAS commissioning course. It also starts to prepare them for the challenges of the Sandhurst Commissioning course in a safe environment.
