About this course

During this 2 day course you will be introduced to ‘mentoring best practice’ and get an in-depth look at each of the mentoring stages, together with the skills required, to ensure confident, self-aware mentors who are competent in developing and motivating others within the MOD.

This course is delivered through a blended approach; the online learning (via Defence Learning Environment (DLE)) will be issued approximately 6 weeks prior to attending the 1 day classroom event. Delegates who have not completed the preparation work, 2 weeks before the classroom delivery, will be removed from the course. A consolidation piece will be due for submission (via DLE) 4 weeks after the classroom event to gain accreditation.

This applicant must be a mentor or will become a mentor within 6 months.

Successful completion of all elements (online learning activities, full attendance/participation of all classroom delivery and submission of consolidation piece) is eligible for the:
  • Charted Management Institute (CMI) Level 5 Award in Coaching and Mentoring (not paid for by Defence Leadership Centre)
