About this course

Normally part of the SEDC MSc taught module ‘Pipeline’ to PgCert, PgDip and MSc – it can be taken independently and acts as a pre-requisite module for Lifecycle Processes Introduction, Lifecycle Processes Advanced, Applied Systems Thinking and Capability Context each for 10 module credits to a limit of 3 modules before you have to register for a PgCert/PgDip/MSc award.  

What you will learn

You will learn to:
  • explain personality types through MBTI
  • outline the nature of systems philosophy
  • interpret and apply a systemic research process
  • interpret alternative ways and approaches to considering a problem
    differentiate between systems concepts
  • illustrate a suitable approach to assessment
  • evaluate the evolution of systems engineering standards and how current standards apply to defence acquisition
  • express principles of systems, viewpoints, lifecycles, and processes within the context of systems engineering
  • apply theory of systems approach to an appropriate defence example
  • demonstrate use of correctly referenced literature

Potential Introduction to SEDC and EMAP Programme or act as a stand-alone to Systems Approach to Engineering.
