About this course

Planning Budgeting and Forecasting is the chosen solution for the upward reporting of financial data. 

There is a requirement that all staff are to be adequately trained to ensure the effective, efficient and economic input of financial data thus ensure that informed decision making can take place. 
Staff are required to demonstrate fundamental skills and understanding of data input and simple exploitation of the PB&F IYM system.  

This course will give an understanding of how the system works and interacts with other financial systems which are also required to be understood by all delegates .

What you will learn

By the end of the course you will be able to:
  • use short-cut keys and navigate around the new PB&F IYM tool
  • understand the difference between the Set-Up and the Driver tabs
  • profile a budget and perform a budget transfer
  • manage and update manpower, risk, provision and assets in the Forecasting model
  • use the new reporting functions that Planning Analytics can offer 

How will this course help my career?

The course will aim to optimise participants working level knowledge of how to use the new PB&F IYM tool.

By the end of the course participants will have experience in the AP0 Budget exercise and have performed a budget transfer in the budgeting model.

Practised how to forecast general expenditure, support costs, manpower, provisions, risk and assets for both core and operations in the forecasting model.

Practised how to run reports in the PB&F IYM tool.

Note: This course does not cover the PB&F ABC Model.

Restrictions and security

This course is not appropriate for contractors or OGD as it focuses on an MOD system that only MOD military or civilian staff will have permissions for.
