About this course

This course is part of the Cyber Foundation Pathway. Building on the technical skills gained in CFP modules 1 to 3 it introduces students to attack and defend techniques. Participants will take part in a penetration test against a fictional company network, discovering weaknesses and vulnerabilities and seeing how malicious actors could exploit these to gain access to systems and services. You will also learn how to conduct low level malware analysis, network incident response and basic computer and network forensics.

The assessment is not part of the residential course and must be booked following the module.

The Defence Cyber School (DCS) is offering a blended approach to the delivery of the Cyber Foundation Pathway (CFP) module 4. This gives students increased flexibility to customise their learning experience.

There are two study options available depending on how you wish to learn, more details on these options can be found in the details tab above, the options are:

Classroom based learning: This is a residential option returning to the more traditional way of face-to-face teaching.  All the module content will be instructor taught using DCS classroom facilities; whiteboard, DCS network and PowerPoint.  This will be conducted at the Defence Academy.  You can apply via the ‘Apply Now’ button above and selecting dates highlighted as classroom delivery.
