About this course

Pre-ACSC focuses on the skills required for the Advanced Command and Staff Course.  It includes academic writing, critical thinking, presentation skills and leading and participating in seminars. Students on Pre-ACSC are exposed to materials that complement ACSC and are given the opportunity to familiarise themselves with English vocabulary around a wide range of topics such as poilitics and ideology, current affairs, social issues and military terminology.

This course enables students to build important relationships with fellow colleagues and embed themselves into UK military life prior to their arrival on ACSC.  They will also have the opportunity to go on external visits to places of military and cultural importance such as Winchester and Bath.

How will this course help my career?

This course is attended by a high number of the international students selected for the Advanced Command and Staff Course.  Students who undertake Pre-ACSC develop the skills necessary  to participate successfully on ACSC and are prepared for the academic rigours they will face.

 


Security and restrictions

Attendees on this course are international military personnel who have been selected to attend the ACSC course and have been cleared to attend by one of the respective IDTs.

Before you attend

Participants are expected to have IELTS  6  – 6.5  or equivalent
