Assets Subject to Special Controls (ASSC) will provide you with a basic awareness of the:
- International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- US Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
- Foreign Military sales (FMS)
You will understand their regimes and guidance on MOD policy regarding the handling of equipment and information subject to controls.
The training also highlights the potential impacts to industry and the MOD of not complying with the regimes regarding assets subject to special controls.
This course is aimed at all personnel who are involved in international procurement.
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- demonstrate awareness of ASSC regulations and the consequences of non-compliance
- demonstrate awareness of MOD policy for defence equipment that is subject to ASSC controls
You will gain an awareness level understanding of assets subject to special controls and understand the implications of non-compliance with ASSC regulations.

You will complete an assessment based on 7 questions. The pass mark is 80%.
An online certificate will be provided for printing and retaining as evidence. The test can be taken as many times as required to pass test.
