The course is run as a workshop and seeks to transfer learning via a mixture of group discussion, theory sessions and case studies.
The course is closely aligned with the MOD Contract Management Handbook and focuses on the following contract lifecycle technical areas of contract management that can help drive efficiency, effectiveness and cost saving opportunities:

* contract implementation
* contract performance
* contract interventions
* contract change
* contract mining
* contract close-out and lessons learned
By the end of this course, you will be able to undertake effective contract management
This course provides fundamental understanding for commercial officers regarding the conduct of contract management. As such, the activities applicable to contract management throughout the total life of the procurement are encompassed.

If urgent work requirements arise that mean you are unable to attend then you should advise your line manager and the Defence Academy as soon as possible. Partial attendance is NOT allowed unless it has been approved in advance by the Commercial Training and Education Team. Any No-Shows (where prior notice of non-attendance has not been received) will be investigated and line managers notified when appropriate.
