About this course

The Designing Online Learning Course (DOLC) is a 2-day face-to-face course where you will develop the skills required to design engaging, effective and compelling moodle-based learning on the Defence Learning Environment (DLE).

DOLC training is mandated for all DLE course designers and those developing online learning within the DLE. Completion of DLE Role Functionality Training (DLERFT) to Intermediate Level (DLEINT) is a pre-requisite, and must be completed before applying for the DOLC.

DLERFT gives you the technical skills to create learning on the DLE. The DOLC must be completed within 18 months of completion of DLEINT.

There are 8 modules which make up the DOLC online course. They are split into two categories:

*syndicate activities
*guidance modules

Each session will consist of two 45-minute modules and will be delivered every Tuesday and Thursday.

The sessions are as follows:

*syndicate activities
*DLE quality rubric and course planning
*engaging course content and accessibility guidance modules
*look and feel and learning pathways
*DLE assessments and feedback

To book onto any of the modules, please use the 'Register your interest' button.

To gain the full DOLC competency, you will be required to complete all 8 modules as well as the post course activity. The post course activity requires you to create a DLE course using content from the 8 modules.
