The Knowledge and Information Management (KIM) Pathway is a series of modules designed and created by Information Capability for personnel in information professional roles.
Through (virtually) guided online learning and assessments, the KIM Pathway teaches you the basic knowledge and skills required for Information professionals (OR2 to SO3 and CS equivalents) working at a practitioner level.
Module 2 follows completion of Module 1 and is the approximate equivalent of the former ISO course.
NB: If you have completed the ISA or ISO course at the Defence Academy in the last two years you may be exempt from having to complete KIM Pathway Modules 0, 1 or 2. If you feel this may apply to you then please contact the course administrator.
- how to analyse departments’ / teams’ information requirements using the Collaborative Working environment Analysis & Design (CAD) toolkit to design collaborative working platforms
- how to manage permissions on SPOL using the MOD permissions management model and how to use Quest ActiveRoles Server (QARS) permissions tool
- an awareness of tasks and challenges for O365 Administrators to build and maintain SPOL team sites to effectively manage a unit/team information
- an awareness of legacy electronic records and reviews
Information professionals typically work within the iHub and are responsible for information administration activities. They are, therefore, essential contributors to effective information management.
On Module 2 of the KIM Pathway you will learn significant transferable skills and knowledge such as:
- to manage and control SPOL permissions for your organisation
- to manage O365 Administrators successfully in completing their tasks.
- to design effective collaborative working platforms using SPOL
- to use and administer legacy electronic records using HPRM
