The course details the application of regulations for single source contracting in the MOD within the framework of the Defence Reform Act 2014 and associated secondary legislation.
The course commences with identification of a Qualifying Defence Contract (QDC) and each subsequent session identifies the impact of the individual areas of the regulations. The course uses syndicate exercises to consolidate and practice learning.
The training is essential for all MOD commercial officers who are involved with, or require a good understanding of, QDC.
By the end of the course you will:
- understand the details of a QDC
- develop a thorough understanding of the individual elements of the Single Source Contract Regulations (SSCR)
- understand the impact of the regulations on both the MOD and industry
- have the confidence to let and manage an MOD single source contract
This course provides essential knowledge for anyone involved in contracting for the MOD through a single source. The MOD's overall performance with regard to the legislation is closely monitored and reported to Parliament. On an individual basis, failure to comply with specific elements of the legislation can result in criminal prosecution.
