This short course is a module from the Explosive Ordnance Engineering (EOE) MSc. It is delivered by Cranfield University on behalf of the Defence College for Military Capability Integration (DCMCI), Defence Academy.
This course includes elements around chemistry, engineering, documentation, range and practical areas. You will gain a full knowledge of the required areas within each element.
You will learn to:
- demonstrate an understanding of the principles for accelerated ageing and its application to the lifecycle of systems
- demonstrate an understanding and rationale of the legislation and associated documentation in the testing and approval of explosives and their articles (AOP, STANAG, UN Test Book)
You will gain the skills to critique the principles for measuring explosives, performance and properties, apply elements of the taught phase in a controlled experimental test environment and apply statistics appropriately within materials assessment.
