Three of this event's speakers have spent long periods incarcerated without any knowledge of whether they would be released. Two were then forced to march, ill equipped through the winter countryside to escape the oncoming Russian army. Many perished on this journey. They all survived their experiences and have a fantastic tale to tell as a result. But how did they survive and emerge stronger from these experiences? How did they find meaning and a sense of responsibility which kept them going? Nietzsche once said ‘He who has a why to live can bear with almost any how’. Gordon Tinline – a chartered psychologist with a specialist interest in stress – will help us draw some conclusions from the 3 key speakers and look at how we can apply those principles to make ourselves more resilient. There will also be plenty of time for you to ask your own personal question.
