Quarterdeck Series - Literature and History: Reading the Contemporary World through Fiction

29 January 2016 / Categories: JSCSC

Event date: 09/03/2016 18:00 - 22:00 Export event

The Quarterdeck Series is a programme of extracurricular evening talks, exploring ideas and meaning through the arts and culture. Guest speakers cover interesting subjects, often with a philosophical theme, which aim to expand knowledge horizons and energise the faculties of reason and logic.

Now in its second year, the series strives to improve discernment and better equip participants to recognise and challenge some of the contemporary world’s assumptions.

The talks are in an ambient and relaxed setting, are FREE to all staff, students and friends of the Defence Academy and their adult family members.

This is the final talk in the Quarterdeck Series (2015-2016) exploring ideas and meaning through art and culture. The title of this talk is ‘Literature and History: Reading the Contemporary World through Fiction.’

Talks are held in the Collingwood Room with the Joint Services Command and Staff College.

If you would like to sign up for this talk, please contact P Harper at JSCSC.
