Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment (PWRR) staff and students at the Defence Academy celebrated the 75th birthday of their Colonel-In-Chief, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, this week with an impromptu toast with their Danish colleagues.
Students on the Intermediate Command and Staff Course (Land) are currently on Ex HAWK OWL, a joint planning exercise with the Danish Army to practice stabilisation operations within a multi-national Land environment.
The PWRR officers took the opportunity to celebrate Queen Margrethe II of Denmark 75th birthday, as well as commemorate their battle honour ‘Albuhera 16 May 1811’ with Officers of their affiliated regiment, The Danish Royal Life Guards.
The Danish contingent on the exercise reported the ceremony to Her Majesty Queen Margrethe who sent her thanks and greetings to the PWRR at the Defence Academy.
