Active Bystander breaks 100k barrier

Over 100,000 people across defence have now completed Active Bystander awareness training.

The online Active Bystander Fundamentals course was launched by the Defence Academy in 2020. It provides insight to the knowledge and skills that can be used to challenge unacceptable behaviour in the workplace, including bullying, harassment and discrimination.

Over six modules, participants explore what unacceptable behaviour looks like, the bystander effect, barriers to intervention and how to take safe, positive action.

By increasing awareness and confidence across the Ministry of Defence workforce, this training is playing a vital role in fostering a diverse and inclusive culture founded on respect and dignity for all.

The course is available on the DLE.
