Defence Academy hosts the 2019 Queen’s Birthday Cocktail Party

The Defence Academy opened its doors last week to our loyal partners and supporters, when the CE Defence Academy & Commandant JSCSC, Major General Andrew Roe and Station Commander, Wing Commander Rob Hart, hosted our international student civilian sponsors, local VIP dignitaries, industry and academic support partners for a cocktail party in Cormorant Hall to celebrate the Queen’s Birthday.

It was a wonderful evening with a sunset ceremony delivered by the Royal Artillery Band and a flypast from a C130J Hercules from 206 Sqn at RAF Brize Norton. Major General Roe addressed the audience, discussing the Defence Academy’s whole force approach to delivery of professional military education, the changes in play around the Defence Academy such as transformation, new units moving in such as the Armed Forces Chaplaincy Centre from Amport House and the Defence Centre for Training Support from RAF Halton, the Estate Strategy and how grateful we are to all those who attended for their support in making it all happen.

The event ran really smoothly and we’re hugely grateful to all involved with the organisation, a special thanks to Station Sergeant Major, WO1 Lee Parkin, who choreographed it all.
