Defence Leadership Centre delivers the first Mental Fitness and Resilience Training Workshop to defence senior leaders.
The workshop aims to supply and equip them with the understanding and tools they need to role model and embed mental fitness and resilience into their organisation in order to optimise individual and organisational performance.
The workshop was well received and several attendees were quoted:
Brigadier Tim Hodgetts, Senior Health Advisor said:
"Mental fitness is important and it relates to all ranks. And while seniors are assumed to have developed resilience, this insight into how to optimise both personal and team resilience is extremely important. So, as the senior health advisor army, with a responsibility for mental fitness in the army, I found this day a very valuable reflection and an opportunity to discuss openly with senior colleagues. I hope and expect this conversation will continue and develop."
Darren Reed, Deputy Director Service Prosecutions, senior Civil Servant thought:
"This short course has already started me in reframing the way I think for both my own wellbeing and that of my colleagues”
Commodore Paul Burke OBE RN added:
“The course identified what I have been doing throughout my MOD and military career which will allow me to improve in some areas and introduce new tools and techniques”.
Further senior leaders Mental Fitness and Resilience Training Workshop dates will be announced for May and will be bookable late April/early May via the Defence Academy website.
