What's the Bystander Effect? If you witnessed something that seemed inappropriate to you, do you think you would intervene?

These are a few of the questions explored in the interview of DefAc's own Diversity and Inclusion Advisor Stu Williams aired on BFBS Radio Morning Show on 29 July.
The concept behind Active Bystander was originally piloted in September 2018 by the Defence Academy and the Defence Studies Department from King's College London. Initially, delivered as an interactive workshop, it has now been developed as an online course on the Defence Learning Environment (DLE). The Active Bystander Fundamentals course is identified as leading practice within defence by the Wigston Review 2019.
Listen to Williams as he explains perceptions of inappropriate behaviours, pluralistic ignorance, improving workplace culture, and developing the appropriate skills and knowledge to positively and safely challenge unacceptable behaviour.
Active Bystander Fundamentals course (www) is available to all MOD personnel via the DLE. (Please note, it is recommended to open the DLE in Chrome as it is not supported by Internet Explorer).
