The International Section, along with Cranfield University recently completed delivery of a bespoke Managing Defence in the Wider Security Context course in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 16 – 20 June 2019.
The course delivered from the Bangladesh National Defence Centre (NDC) formed an integral part of the National Defence Course’s Term 3 curriculum of Policy and Strategy Formulation and covered the topics of policy formulation, strategy development and strategic communications, the management of defence, strategic change management and risk management. This was the second week of education delivered to the NDC by the International Section, the first being a Strategic Leadership package delivered during the course’s Term 1 Strategic Context and Leadership package.
The course was very well received by the class of 85 1* officers and civilian equivalents. In addition to the 54 Bangladeshi students the course contained delegates from China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Tanzania. The course also included the future UK Defence Advisor.
