Prestigious assessor status awarded to Defence Academy English Language Wing

20 July 2015 / Categories: DA News and Events

The Defence Centre for Languages and Culture (DCLC) has become an accredited qualification centre for the prestigious English Language Teacher qualification CELTA.

This makes the Defence Academy the first defence body to deliver and offer this award.

The CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) is one of the most widely taken TEFL/TESOL* qualifications and is endorsed by Cambridge English Language Assessment.

In order to receive its awarded status, the DCLC ran a pilot course for students from across all three Services; as part of the assessment and validation process.

Following this success, the DCLC will be offering the CELTA course, from summer 2015 onwards, on a regular basis to UK personnel and students from other partner nations.
